Official WBT "Blog Bug"

I have exciting news!

Chris Biffle got a hold of me yesterday (yes, Coach B!) and offered me a position with WBT as the
 Official WBT Blog Bug.

whole brain teaching, whole brain teaching blogs, list of WBT blogs
I'll be using this logo on my blog when I'm posting about WBT blogs!

I will be working with the wonderful Misty from Think, Wonder & Teach and Melissa from WBT with Scrapbunny on all things WBT blog related!

Not only will we be continuously networking with all the wonderful WBT bloggers out there but we will also be in charge of updating the ever-growing list of WBT blogs.

Together, we will be creating a brand new up-to-date blog list in the WBT forum soon so users can access all the WBT blogs in one easy location.
Plus we will be working on creating new, exciting ways to promote the best WBT blogs!
(I will update the list on my blog as well)

Need to update the info about your blog?
Found a great blog that needs to be added to our list?
Want your blog on the list?
Know a blogger that hasn't posted in a while and needs a pick-me-up?
Want to work on a collaborative blog project?

Let us know and we will take care of it all :)

  1. congratulations on being the official WBT blog! That's awesome! I just found you via Teaching Maddeness blog and thought I'd hop on over and check out your site. I'm so glad that I did and I'm now your newest follower! A colleague and I have been dabbling in the WBT methods for the last 2 years but haven't been doing it consistently. Maybe by following you, I will have the motivation and information to fully implement it this next year!

    1. Thanks for stopping by the blog and following Diane!
I have been using WBT strategies in the classrooms during my student teaching placements and have found that not only are they really effective but are also fun and engaging.

I hope the blog is able to give you the boost you are looking for to dive deeper into WBT. If you need more inspiration I recommend you check out some of the blogs I linked to in my WBT Blog list (under my Fav Websites tab). They are a great resource for seeing how WBT is working in classrooms.

I wish you all the best and I hope to hear an update on your journey :)

  2. Congratulations! That is totally awesome..looking forward to it :)

  5. That's a great honor! Way to go!

    1. Thank you Anne, I am very excited to be working with so many amazing blogs and such a strong team :)

  6. That sounds like great news! I'm not sure what WBT is, but I'm curious and am going to check it out. ;)

Lauralee (stopping by from We Teach)

    1. Thanks Lauralee, I love to have visitors stop by from We Teach :). This is something that I am very excited about. Definitely stop by the Whole Brain Teaching website to learn all about it :)

  7. Congrats! I love your blog. I have awarded you the One Lovely Blog award. Check out my blog to collect it!

  8. Love your blog! I started doing WBT in my classroom last school year and loved it! I was very good with doing Class-Yes, Teach-Okay, and Hands & Eyes, but had a hard time keeping up with the scoreboard when I was working with small groups or was not at the board all the time, you know? I wished the scoreboard was portable! :) I am hoping to being implementing some other aspects of WBT this school year coming up. What is the criteria for being a WBT Blog Bug?
I'd love for you to stop by my blog Simply SWEET TEAching

    1. Thanks for visiting my blog and spending some time reading my posts! It is always great to hear from other teachers using WBT!

I know many teachers who have a main scoreboard on their whiteboard or SmartBoard but also have a portable one on a children's dry erase board or a laminated card on a lanyard. They've shared that this works perfect for the group work that often accompanies elementary years. Maybe it is something that could work for you too?

I'm excited to hear that you are diving deeper into WBT this year. If you need anything I'd be happy to help out.

Every Monday I find different ed resources and add them to my list of Fav Websites. Being interested in WBT, I decided to start researching WBT Blogs. Eventually I had found over 50 that I researched and annotated for my blog. When I had posted the list to the WBT Forum Coach B got a hold of me to offer me the position. Together with Misty and Melissa we find new WBT blogs, welcome new WBT bloggers, answer support questions, compile these blogs into our database for WBT users to easily search and visit blogs regularly to see what is being posted. Every so often we do a blog highlight that is posted to the WBT forum that showcases some of the great posts being made by WBT bloggers. This past week we showed off some of the great SIW posts that have been made.

      Best wishes!
